How to burn fat after the holidays

A practical handbook against the pointless guilt following Christmas holidays.

Useful to reduce bloating and reactivate the metabolism.

First of all, exercise! The body burns fat during the aerobic process, using it instead of carbohydrates to produce the energy needed by the muscles. The recommended activities are those with high oxygen consumption: jogging, Nordic walking and cycling. The body will continue to burn fat even after two or three hours.

Hydrate! It is essential for the correct functioning of basal metabolism. Nutritionists and sports trainers agree that it is appropriate to drink two to three liters of water a day, to increase your basal metabolic rate by up to 30% and speed up the fat melting process.

Green tea. If water does not appeal to you, try green tea. In addition to being an effective antioxidant, according to "The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition", it is also a metabolic stimulator: three cups a day can accelerate it by 4% ("Green Tea. Health Benefits and Applications", ajcn.nutrition.org).

Avoid do-it-yourself diets, especially if drastic. They are a shock for the body! It is always better to consult a specialist and identify the diet that best suits your body type and your daily needs.

Do not skip breakfast or other meals. It can alter the metabolism and cause you to feel hunger that is difficult to contain. Better to eat light meals, preferring low-saturated fat foods for dinner, leaving the most caloric ones for breakfast.

Recommended foods with high thermogenic power, such as asparagus, broccoli, onion, salad, mint, chili pepper, and celery. These foods promote the metabolic process that allows the body to produce heat in the adipose and muscular tissue (thermogenesis).

Other “fat burning” foods: pineapple, oats, avocado, lean dairy products (especially from goat’s milk), walnuts, fish rich in omega-3 (like oily fish), grapefruit and eggs.

To reduce bloating, eat tomatoes! A low glycemic index vegetable with few calories and many beneficial properties for the body. It helps metabolism and promotes a sense of satiety in addition to providing vitamins and minerals in abundance.

Great to stop hunger: Tomato Juice!

Daily things to do!

Small snacks, protein-based, unsaturated fats and fibers, to keep your metabolism working.

Reduce stress, rest at least 7 to 8 hours per night, walk at least 15 to 20 minutes a day.

Finally, a food journal. It will help you understand better and keep track of the goals you have achieved.
