In America, Valentine’s Day is very much a family affair.
Traditionally, it’s not just lovers who celebrate their bond, and the exchange of little gifts extends to parents, grandparents, classmates and teachers. It’s especially exciting for the kids, who prepare cards and little shows. A nice way to celebrate is to gather the whole family round the table to share some food lovingly prepared for the occasion.

According to Japanese tradition, it’s only girls who give gifts on this day, while all the guys have to do is gracefully accept and unwrap the chocolates, enjoyed not only by their boyfriends and husbands, but also by all their friends and colleagues. The girls will have to wait for March 14th, White Day, when it’s their turn to receive some delicious white chocolate.
